One example in 2008 shows a parcel whose tax value is $357,100 below the price it
just sold for. Not valuing parcels at sell price costs county $ 825,207,225 annually in
lost valuation
Over 20 million dollars of valuation was lost by the JCBOE that continued to value as
a parking lot after a 4 story building was constructed on the site. This was only
discovered by a taxpayers complaint.
I do NOT say these examples are corruption; but, they suggest that inadequate
controls are in place to prevent corruption.
