Square Footage of Your Home
In my case the JCBOE had overstated my square footage significantly. I have
been trying to get this corrected since 2005. When correct I estimate that it
will reduce my property tax my ten (10) %. Not only for this year, but for all
following years. I just found out that you can get a refund for the prior two

check!
Find square footage on your ICS
If your home is a rectangle, measure the first floor inside/outside length and
width of your house. Each measurement is rounded to the nearest foot.
Then length times width is your “BASE AREA” shown on the ICS. "UPPER
FLOOR AREA" is computed in the same manner. Link to explain "APPENDAGE
ADJ". If your calculations are less then shown on your ICS, your taxes will be
reduced once this is corrected.

AAM followed by chapter - page.

AAM 8-18 thru 8-23 provide detailed area calculations.
