Cost Index
The cost (county) index is created annually to update table rates that appear in the
Alabama Appraisal Manual. I have e-mailed (4-9-2008) Mr. Lewis A. Easterly,
Department Secretary Alabama Department of Revenue, requesting under the
Alabama open records law all cost index material submitted by Jefferson county in
2007 as required by the AAM page 6-1. That material will be shown here so that we
can see exactly what was approved and how the index was created. I have also
requested 2008 when available.
